‘The Cats’ to vie at Canberra short filmfest

Iranian short film ‘The Cats’ is to represent Iran at Canberra Short Film Festival in Australia.

Iranian short film ‘The Cats’ is slated to represent Iran at the Canberra Short Film Festival in Australia.

The film, directed by Mohammad Rasouli, is to have its international premiere at the 25th edition of the event.

‘The Cats’ narrates the story of a girl who has recently ended a relationship and is living with her two cats during the coronavirus pandemic quarantine.

Mojdeh Daee is the only star of the short, also written and produced by Mohammad Rasouli.

Running for 24 years, as a competition-based festival, the Canberra Short Film Festival screens the best of short flicks, from Australia and around the globe, across 6 locations in Canberra.

The 2020 Canberra filmfest has received over 700 films from around the world in 9 categories, among which, the selection committee has chosen 216 of the best films to appear on the silver screen during the festival.

The 25th edition of the event is scheduled for November 20-29, 2020.
